Join us Thursday, ​May ​18th at 11:45AM at the Austin Center for Architecture for a discussion on ​Passive Income. Leading the Roundtable discussion will be architect ​Tim Brown, principal at Tim Brown Architecture and owner of Perch Plans. He will be  discussing his firm's background, how and why he decided to start Perch Plans, along with the goals he hopes to achieve through this alternative architectural endeavor.

Discussion to include topics such as:

  • ​Personal time invested for initial business development vs time currently required on a daily/weekly/monthly basis 
  • ​Business growth and management requirements since the start of Perch Plans  ​
  • ​Business structure and how that differs from the daily architecture practice
  • ​Building an audience for the product without overshadowing the architecture practice

Mission
Members of AIA Austin small firms' committee (generally characterized as having 10 or fewer employees, designing small to medium projects) meet monthly to learn and discuss architectural practice and continually reach out to a diverse community of emerging small firms owners.

The committee meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 11:45am.
