The MUSIC IN ARCHITECTURE - ARCHITECTURE IN MUSIC Symposium is a once-in-a-lifetime, two-and-a-half-day event on the UT campus between October 19 and 21.  A year in the planning, it will feature 11 original live music performances of collaborations between architects and musicians, 18 fascinating papers, lectures, and much more...culminating with the premiere on the Bass Concert Hall stage, on the night of October 21, of Paul Dresher and Michael Benedikt's LOW CLOSE VAST, a work for 12 musicians in three movements and three amazing spatial transformations.

YOU ARE INVITED to any and all of the events, from the Wednesday 10/19 afternoon procession through five performances around campus, to the ones next day in Goldsmith Hall and Battle Hall Library (Ellen Fullman's Long String Instrument, all 90 feet of it in the grand reading room and, at Jessen Auditorium, a 30+ choral work by Frank Clark from Atlanta), to the Novak lecture and Dresher premiere on Friday.  All events (except the last) are free and open to the public.

Tickets for the LOW CLOSE VAST are available from Texas Performing Arts Ticket office, on location and online.  Limited seating.
