Synthesizing Open Data as a Driver of Sustainable Design and 2016 AIA Austin Annual Meeting 1LU/HSW

On Tuesday, October 18, AIA Austin will host the 2016 Annual Meeting at The Highball. Our featured speaker will be Dominique Davison, AIA NCARB LEED AP BD+C, principal of DRAW, and creator of PlanIT Impact, a cloud-based resource assessment tool whose goal is to make sustainable design and planning more accessible, affordable, and achievable. Born out of a Kansas-City Hackathon, the PlanIT Impact application lets designers, planners, and stakeholders better understand-at the schematic phase of the design process-how a building or site will perform with regard to water use, stormwater infiltration, greenhouse gas emission, proximity to public transportation, quality of place, potential ROI, and more.

In addition to our speaker, we will hold our 2016 Annual Meeting and Election of the Board of Directors for 2017. Please review the material provided in the linked ballot here and plan to attend and vote at the event. If you cannot attend the October 18 luncheon, you may use the document as an absentee ballot and return it by email to Ingrid Spencer.
