POLITICS
The good, the bad and the worse.

Evan Smith is the CEO and editor-in-chief of The Texas Tribune which, in its first year in operation, won two national Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Associaton and a General Excellence Award from the Online News Association.  Previously he spent nearly 18 years at Texas Monthly, stepping down in August 2009 as the magazine’s president and editor-in-chief. He currently also hosts a new show, Overheard with Evan Smith, that airs on PBS stations nationally.

Evan has been asked to discuss the political landscape and as they say at the “Trib”, “promoting greater civic engagement and civil, informed discourse is a direct route to a better and more productive Texas.”

Our friend Ann Richards is reported to have said: I’ve always said that in politics, your enemies can’t hurt you, but your friends will kill you.

Join us for what promises to be an extremely informative, thought-provoking and entertaining update on Texas politics and your part in the process.

Seating is limited – sign up early!
