Inequality, Fair Housing, and Architecture
Speaker: John Henneberger
Where we live determines what sort of life chances we have, and the root cause of this inequality is racial segregation and discrimination. There is new momentum in the U.S. around fair housing—one of the most important tools for combating segregation. But fair housing efforts can only be successful if advocates—architects, community groups, developers, CDCs, planners, and designers—come together to analyze the factors driving racial and economic divisions, challenge exclusionary practices, and work to provide equal housing opportunities.
MacArthur Fellow John Henneberger is one of Texas' leading experts on low-income housing issues, and is a renowned advocate for fair and affordable housing. Join us at our third Luncheon Speaker Series events at the Highball as John presents the issues and solutions to the affordable housing conundrum in Texas and beyond.
