Join AIA Austin and Lucia Athens, Chief Sustainability Office for the City of Austin, for an in-depth discussion of the City of Austin's Sustainability Placemaking initiatives.

Connecting the Dots with Austin’s Sustainability Agenda
Austin has connected the dots across the triple bottom line of sustainability with 40 flagship project areas and over 150 leading edge actions. Austin’s new Sustainability Action Agenda provides a groundbreaking comprehensive framework for municipal and citizen action.

How does sustainable development relate to obesity?...preventing wildfires? …ending homelessness? …electric vehicles?...smart grids?...auto racing?...live music?...animal cruelty?...solar-powered art? While these may at first appear a ragtag series of topics, in fact sustainability is the thread that can connect them all within Austin’s approach. The audience will learn about how the triple bottom line is influencing a new perspective on sustainability in Central Texas, and be inspired by details related to some of the 40 major flagship sustainability projects and initiatives that are “connecting the dots.”

Members - $25
Non Members - $33

Final 2012 Luncheon is October 23!
