Business Development + COVID

A CRAN + Small Firms Roundtable Discussion Panel and Q&A.

How do we as architects and contractors toe the line between protecting and growing our business while also protecting employees and workers from exposure to COVID? A conversation between architects, contractor, and design-build firm leader.

The following questions will be discussed and answered by our panelists:

  • What is the biggest/most surprising change you've needed to implement, with the new guidelines/restrictions in mind?
  • What are the factors you weigh before going to a site?  How do you communicate your needs with the other parties involved?
  • Are there situations you may risk but don't expect your employees to?  How do you weigh the difference?
  • How do you prioritize your responsibilities within/for different relationships: family, business, clients, employees, consultants?
  • Do you see any of the strategies you've implemented (in communication, deliverables, etc) continuing past the pandemic?
  • How do you develop and grow business to protect your company and employees' future while observing COVID safety protocols?
  • How has the pace of construction changed? Do you see this being a permanent or temporary change?
  • What are your expectations of employees, consultants, peers, etc?

The Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN) is a resource for those that practice residential architecture. Montly meetings usually consist of a project tour, continuing education, and lunch. Our meetings and events are open to everyone, and we invite you to become more involved with CRAN.
