Embodied Carbon 201

Please join COTE’s 2030 Subcommittee on September 1st at 5:30p for a panel discussion on embodied carbon reduction strategy, tools, and policies. We have a great panel with Dirk Kestner from Walter P. Moore, Kate Bren from Positive Energy, and Sarah Talkington from Austin Energy Green Building. Moderated by AIA Austin COTE Co-chair, Josh Leger. This event will be online. New members are always welcome, please share this invitation with friends, co-workers and friends who are co-workers!

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the importance of reducing embodied carbon in the building industry.
  2. Evaluate where the majority of carbon emissions occur in design and construction.
  3. Assess strategies for reducing the embodied carbon in structural, envelope, finish, and mechanical systems.
  4. Specify the most appropriate systems for a low carbon built environment.

This event is free and open to the public, or offers CE credit with a paid ticket. 1 LU/HSW.
