The presentation, led by Alan R. Bell AIA, LEED AP, Regional Director, Planning, Design and Construction with Ascension Health, will provide insight to the Design and Construction cost trends currently effecting the Central Texas Healthcare Market. The presentation will provide the local Architectural community with the metrics for future client conversations.

  • Participants will learn the different categories of an Owner’s Total Project Budget, via a case study of the new Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas
  • Participants will be presented, via the Case Study, the journey from Budgeted Costs to Actual Cost to better understand project cost management.  
  • Participants will understand the role of Medical Equipment costs in healthcare. This includes how medical planners use technology to manage costs and facility go live.
  • Participants will understand the hot issues in the current local ambulatory construction market. This includes near term costs and the current availability of labor and materials with respect the disaster recovery on the Texas Coast.
