Join the Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) for a presentation led by Mark Queralt, MD, Back Pain Clinical Director, Musculoskeletal Institute at Dell Medical Center.

Dr. Queralt will introduce the innovative new approach to delivering patient-centered care within the UT Health Austin System. He will compare pre and post states of patient care models and traditional versus future state care delivery structures.  Emphasis will be give to understanding the interrelated core factors around definition of the patient experience and the impact to operations and physical facility configuration. The move toward a comprehensive team and holistic treatment and care plan will improve outcomes and result in a more efficient delivery of comprehensive and specialized healthcare services.

Learning Objectives for this continuing education event are:

  1. Describe the organization of the UT Health System, the various interrelated programs, and their models for delivering patient care.
  2. Recognize the limitations of the traditional patient care framework that resulted in rethinking, and the subsequent creation of new care delivery models and their impact on patient care.
  3. State core features of patient-centered care including flow and operational considerations that impact clinic organization to create an optimal environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  4. Specify specific attributes of the UT Musculoskeletal Program and its measurement of successful strategies that support improved patient outcomes and the patient experience.
