Join the Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) for a presentation by Milton Hime, AIA, focusing on design approaches and principles for a community clinic and the implementation of a collaborative approach to the facility design with the goal of directly improving patient health, safety and welfare.

 Learning Objectives for this event:

  1. Describe community clinic strategies and architectural interventions that promote the patient-centered healthcare delivery provided to medically underserved and uninsured Central Texans.
  2. Identify design strategies and built environment interventions that support caregivers in providing high quality, affordable health-care with dignity and respect.
  3. State core features the patient-centered "Center Stage" design including flow and operational considerations that impact clinic organization to create an optimal environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  4. Specify specific attributes of the physical/built Patient Care environment that accommodates holistic services offered to patients and how these feature support wellness/community engagement and result in improved patient outcomes/experiences.
