Texas Accessibility Standards Meets Healthcare Design

Join the Academy of Architecture for Health for a discussion with Steve Zoerner of Infinite ADA for a more focused review of how the Texas Accessibility Standards directly applies to today’s healthcare design challenges.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understanding how to determine what is and isn’t required to be accessible or be brought into new construction standards if the project is an alteration/renovation.
  2. Understanding general exemptions and to whom or what they apply. Understanding how employee work areas are defined and where they start and stop including what exemptions apply.
  3. Understanding what is and isn’t required for the building’s site arrival point(s). Understanding accessible application for building entrances and exits.
  4. Understanding clear floor space areas and alcove spaces. How and where to design construction tolerances.
  5. Understanding clear floor area requirements for toilet rooms? Water closet requirements; clear floor space; toilet compartment stalls

1 LU/HSW with a paid ticket. This is a hybrid event (in-person at AIA Austin and on Zoom; Zoom information will be sent with registration confirmation).
