AIA Austin is proud to announce the winners of the 2016 Student Awards

Each year, studio instructors at the school nominate the strongest work to be considered for Design Excellence recognition. In the words of the UT School of Architecture, "conferred at the completion of each semester, the awards further the school's shared goal of recognizing and rewarding design excellence across all programs and levels.” A group of faculty select projects for each semester, and at the close of the Spring term, a selection of student work, further narrowing the pool of exceptional design, is installed in the Mebane gallery in Goldsmith Hall.

In May, our AIA Austin jury met to review the Design Excellence exhibition and to pick three projects to further recognize. This selection represents studio work that has achieved a high level of design skill, visual communication, and beautiful representation. Each winner receives a certificate and the top prize comes with a $500 gift.

The Design Excellence exhibition will remain on display in the Mebane gallery throughout the summer.
