Two BOX CITY Events!!

CALL for VOLUNTEERS and Material DONATIONS

Material Donation needs:

  • BOXES (10-12"; 14-16"; 20-24")
  • construction paper, wrapping paper
  • popsicle sticks, pipe-cleaners, dowels
  • plastic water bottles, foil
  • old magazines, old drawings sets

 

Event #1 - mini Box City in conjunction with the South Central Waterfront Project put on by the City of Austin Planning Department.  

Date: Saturday April 26th

Time:  2-5pm

Location: Texas School for the Deaf Campus (south austin)

Volunteer Needs:  4-6 volunteers needed (set-up, clean-up, and working with the kids)

About: The City of Austin invites the community to a VISION + DESIGN INTENSIVE to envision the future of Lady Bird Lake’s South Central Waterfront. Learn more about public events on April 24, 26 and 28, 2014 at www.austintexas.gov/waterfront.  

While the adults are engaged in planning and design activities, their children will the opportunity to try their hand at urban planning through Box City. 

 

Event #2  Box City at Mueller Farmers in celebration of Earth Day!

Date: Sunday April 27th

Time:  10:30-1:30

Location: Mueller Farmers Market

Volunteer Needs:  6-10 volunteers (set-up, clean-up, recycle, & working with kids!)

About:  In celebration of Earth Day we will host Box City at the ever popular Mueller Farmer's Market.  Kids of all ages can participate in Box City.  We have two official shifts but kids can come and go as they please. We need lots of help getting set up and with enough volunteers, we can have lots of people assisting the kids with their project.
