4th Annual Design Exhibit
Latinos in Architecture

Latinos in Architecture (LiA), a committee of the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), is proud to announce PERSPECTIVAS dosmil14. This exhibit aims to showcase the work and talent of Latino architectural professionals and designers practicing in the State of Texas, in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept.15- Oct.15). The exhibit will be displayed at the Austin City Hall and the Austin Center for Architecture. Final exhibit dates to be confirmed.

LiA Austin’s mission is “To serve and support our local Latino communities, strengthen networks among design professionals and enrich our practices through diverse cultural views by fostering participation in educational, professional and community oriented programs”. Since its formation in early 2011, LiA has been instrumental in organizing multiple events in direct benefit of the Austin community. LiA members have participated during career day at local elementary schools, have established partnerships with the UT Austin School of Architecture to support Latino students, have organized book donation drives to help build architecture libraries at local area High Schools and collaborated with other AIA committees in support of their own mission.
