Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking for a Sr. Project Architect- Project Manager in Texas. This role may be based in any of the following Texas locations: Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. They will be responsible for leading the design, inspiration, quality assurance, and financial success of Transportation Architecture projects. Candidates with relevant project (transit, rail, aviation) building design and construction experience working with agencies in Texas will be given serious consideration. Prefer candidates to have an established reputation evident through design awards, publications, education or other venues, and positive client references. Skills sets for this position include guiding initial design concepts and ideas from pursuit and selection through successful project completion on multiple project types, especially those with high degrees of complexity, and experience in business development. This individual will increase the awareness and market presence of HDR's architectural practice while contributing to the reputation of the firm, and will support initiatives across Texas and the US.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture
  • Must have/maintain an Architectural License in the state of Texas
  • 7+ years of experience in Transportation Architecture projects including DOT's, Transit, Aviation, Private Development/Entertainment, and Maritime
  • Must have knowledge of current trends and experience with large, complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills are a must
  • Experience with CADD platforms, BIM, and visualization tools required
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule) required
  • Prefer a proven track record of winning project pursuits
  • Excellent leadership and career development skills
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sustainable Design experience and LEED Credentials preferred
  • Preference will be given to local candidates with Texas experience
