Your Role
As a Gensler architectural Specifications Writer, you will compose and support the production of project manuals for a wide range of project types and sizes in your office. You are an integral member of the project team and your specs are an integral component of our construction documents. You will be successful because you are a lifelong learner who enjoys collaboration, sharing knowledge, and serving as a technical resource.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with project teams on the budgeting, scheduling and production of specification project manual
  • Prepare project manuals using Gensler master specification core documents
  • Serve as a technical resource for product and material evaluations and selections
  • Support the development of regional and/or local variations to the firmwide specifications masters
  • Maintain proficiency in construction products, techniques and sequences by staying abreast of product developments, new materials, code changes, and current industry trends
  • Function as a technical leader and active member of your office’s technical group

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • 5+ years of experience in architectural profession, 4+ years of experience dedicated to specification writing
  • Certified by CSI as a Construction Document Technician (CDT) or Certified Construction Specifier (CCS)
  • LEED AP certified
  • Licensed Architect, preferred
  • Active member of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) or Specification Consultants in Independent Practice (SCIP) preferred
