Hollon+Cannon Group (HCG) is a Building Envelope Consulting firm specializing in providing architects and building owners with professional and independent guidance on their building envelope projects. HCG provides a wide variety of services designed to help clients from initial investigations, through final construction and beyond.

Position Summary: Hollon+Cannon has an immediate opening in their Austin Office for an experienced Project Designer to join their team. This position requires a hands-on professional, capable of involvement in all phases of a Project. The ideal candidate will be well versed in each of the following: production of drawings / construction detailing, contract administration (including construction quality control site observation).

Responsibilities of Project Designer:

  • Receive project requests, review design requirements, and prepare draft designs.
  • Utilize necessary physical and digital tools to create initial drafts.
  • Finalize drafting projects and adjust designs as needed.
  • Ensure design specifications align to safety standard and governmental regulations.
  • Perform quality control field observations, produce and submit reports of the respectivesite visits.
  • Timely project timekeeping.

Qualifications for Project Designer:

  • 5+ years of experience in A/E design firm. Experience with the building envelope a plus.
  • Degree in Architecture or Engineering is preferred.
  • Proven and successful experience with a high level of proficiency in AutoCAD isrequired.
  • Sound knowledge of design process, construction documentation, and constructionadministration.
  • Significantly detail-oriented with the ability to spot and fix potential design flaws.
  • Ability to work in the field, and to travel locally as workload / projects require.

This may be a local and partially remote position, it is not fully remote.  There are times when attendance in the office is required as well as occasional travel to job sites in and around Austin, Texas.
