Fifth Dimension Architecture & Interiors is a Birmingham, Alabama-based architectural firm with additional Atlanta, Austin, and Orlando offices.  Fifth Dimension is comprised of a group of individuals that work to embrace the future of architecture through the continuous evolution of design and technology. We seek qualified applicants to fill a leadership role for an experienced multi-family Project Architect & Project Manager position for our Austin & Birmingham Studio.  We are seeking someone passionate about growing their career in multi-family design.  This position is available in any of our offices.  The role includes leading one or more teams on various multifamily projects and mentoring less experienced staff in the unique code, and detailing considerations that come with multifamily architecture. Being an expert in wood frame building design is a must, as is being an expert in Revit and passionate about carrying this technology through full coordination in a set of project documents. The project types you will have the opportunity to manage will not be limited to wood frame but will also include metal stud mid-rise and high-rise, post-tensioned concrete high rises, metal stud high-rise, and high-rise adaptive reuse.  The right individual must be confident in leading a team, communicating with clients, and actively managing all aspects of a project's design, coordination, and project delivery. They must have a strong desire to be in a leadership role and are willing to take ownership of the projects they create. They must have a strong understanding of building codes, waterproofing, and accessibility standards. Projects will be located in various locations throughout the US and will require travel to the job sites on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree
  • Minimum 5-10 years of Project Management experience (Project Manager)
  • Multi-family Project Management preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of design/production experience in a professional firm
  • Successful completion of the ARE and the ability to obtain licensure (preferred but not required).  If not completed, then the candidate should be actively pursuing licensure.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Rendering capabilities, Lumion preferred.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and their applications to architecture.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Applications.
