CWG Architecture and Interiors is offering an exciting Principal Architect job opportunity in Helena, Montana. The Principal Architect will collaborate with dynamic and innovative architects, designers, and office, marketing, and project managers in a firm that is growing with the city of Helena.

Position: Principal Architect, Full-Time

Location: Helena, Montana

Here’s what we’re looking for-

  • Five or more years of experience in commercial architectural practice.
  • Architectural Licensure.
  • Ability to prepare a full set of construction documents.
  • Management experience in all phases of a project through post-occupancy.
  • Knowledge of building codes and experience with agency processing.
  • Knowledge of project specifications.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Firm Management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with additional programs including Autocad, Sketchup, and Photoshop is advantageous.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Resourceful and willing to bring and share new ideas.
  • Interest in growing individual talents with project experience, continuing education, and career growth.
  • Interest and ability in becoming an Owner and Principal of the firm.

The Principal Architect will:

  • Collaborate with other members of the office to explore and develop design concepts that respond to client objectives.
  • Prepare 3D models (utilizing Revit) throughout the design process as a tool for visualizing and presenting design concepts.
  • Lead the team in the preparation of construction documents and ensure the project progresses in accordance with schedule commitments.
  • Provide quality control to ensure the project is in conformance with building codes and consistent with office standards.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Assist in resolving complex technical and design issues.
  • Coordinate with consultants to ensure a complete & accurate set of documents.
  • Have effective time management skills and ensure the accuracy of documents.
  • Provide support for any tasks required for the successful completion of our projects.
  • Work with state and local agencies and contractors through the building process.
  • Dedicate time to junior staff development and possess excellent people skills.
  • Play an active role in strategic planning with management and marketing.
  • Be willing to learn how to run and grow a business.
