LSI (Land Strategies Inc.) is a full-service design and development consulting firm, offering a comprehensive array of services in architecture, landscape architecture, and planning.  We are an established firm of 36 years with over 1800 projects in central Texas.  In 2018 we expanded our services to include architecture.  We are gaining traction in Austin with new and exciting projects and we are looking for a talented, self-motivated individual to help lead and grow our architecture practice.

About you:
As a Managing Architect, you have strong design skills, with the ability to communicate high level concepts, and ensure the execution of concepts in to architectural form. You will manage the Architecture team internally, while being able to coordinate between consultants, clients, and government, in order to produce comprehensive and technically sound documentation.

Job Brief:
You will be in an upper management position, being responsible for promoting a positive work culture, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive design environment. Additionally, you will be engaged in business development and client relations, being an ambassador for LSI in the development community.

Our ideal candidate will have 8-15 years of experience practicing architecture, with ample experience executing commercial projects of varying scales, uses and construction types.

We value strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple project teams as well as manage project efforts, both technically and administratively. As a Managing Architect you will be engaging, self-motivated and able to work efficiently and effectively with a high degree of autonomy.

The ideal candidate will need to be the point contact to clients and be able to manage contracts, budgets, schedules and expectations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Managing multiple design teams concurrently while showcasing strong leadership skills, with the ability to promote positive work culture, and be empathetic to the needs of employees. Including the mentoring of junior staff, hiring and close collaboration with the management team.
  • Strong understanding of building code, permitting process, and extensive construction administration experience. As well as understanding of construction processes timing and coordination.
  • Lead design efforts through a collaborative process with strong architectural drawing and construction detailing skills being capable of graphicly communicating abstract concepts.
  • Develop contracts and maintain client expectations and budgets with the ability to forecast project requirements and allocate time and resources accordingly.


  • Registered Architect (Preferred)
  • Professional Degree in Architecture
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD
  • Minimum of 8 years professional experience
  • Extensive construction administration experience
  • Extensive understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and materials
  • Ability to communicate high level design concepts, and execute design intent
  • Efficiency in Microsoft office, Adobe Suite, Sketchup
