We are seeking a Landscape Architect who can quickly develop designs, construction documents, coordinate consultants, and interact well with project staff and partners.  This position will focus primarily on: site development and planning for senior living developments, landscape and hardscape design, and exterior space programming.  A prospective candidate should be capable of understanding and applying codes and regulations, completing assignments per schedule, and producing quality documentation.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited Landscape Architecture Degree
  • Landscape Architecture License for the State of Texas preferred, CLARB registration is a plus
  • 3-5 years’ minimum experience in a professional design office

Design & Site Planning

  • Understanding of site feasibility studies, site analysis, site development construction costs, space programming, and ability to work with municipal site development codes
  • Strong planting design skills and understanding of aesthetic principals of design

Communication & Technology

  • Clearly communicate with vendors, subs, and other design team members
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD (ArchiCAD or LandFX experience is a plus, but not required)
  • Graphic presentation skills including hand drawing and rendering as well as proficiency in graphic software such as Photoshop, SketchUp or similar programs

Administration & Management

  • Effectively balance project time, program, site, and budget constraints
  • Understand project sequencing, approval, permitting, and construction activities
  • Effectively monitors project tasks, deadlines, and reports progress to Studio Manager and/or Project Manager
  • Accurately and effectively documents drawings and answers detailed design related questions.

Professional Competence

  • Ability to quickly research, understand, and interpret standard and unfamiliar development codes
  • Able to organize, coordinate, and create a complete set of pricing, permit, and construction documents
  • Demonstrates problem solving and critical thinking skills to meet project goals

Personal Skills

  • Motivated and maintains a professional demeanor
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits:

  • This is a full-time salary position with pay commensurate with experience.
