We are seeking an IT Support Specialist for our Austin office. The ideal candidate would have experience and interest in helpdesk support for a small to mid-sized firm, enjoys working with people and knowledge of architecture, engineering and construction software.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Prioritizing and handling help desk support tickets to assist staff
  • Assist BIM/IT Manager with analyzing business requirements to develop solutions for IT needs
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT to support staff productivity levels
  • Implement office IT projects, including the deployment of new IT systems and services
  • Help define and contribute to the office IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
  • Participate in discussions with vendors for new hardware and software adoption
  • Working closely with hardware vendors for ongoing warranty repairs
  • Work collaboratively with in-house BIM/IT Manager and IT managed service provider
  • Ongoing hardware maintenance

Education/skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience working in IT operations
  • Experience with prioritizing and handling help desk support tickets to assist staff
  • Experience implementing IT projects under the direction of an in-house IT Manager
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, data storage systems, and VOIP phone systems
  • Experience supporting work from home environments
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making and troubleshooting skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work within a team
  • Ability to multi-task & work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Knowledge of the architecture, engineering and construction software is beneficial
