Our in-house design team is located in Austin, Texas, and designs the majority of StoryBuilt projects across the country. Projects range from several single-family homes, to 10+ acre master planned communities, that can include commercial buildings, condominiums, apartments, townhomes, hotels, etc. The StoryBuilt team considers all urban typologies on our projects and strategically designs complete communities to provide not only in-demand housing and commercial buildings, but thoughtful urban spaces to help these communities thrive.
 
The primary role of Intermediate Architect / Designer at StoryBuilt is to act as project support through all phases of a project. This includes working through design iterations and presentations with project teams during design phases, as well as producing construction documents and assisting during construction administration. This role will assist with production of construction documents for a large variety of project types, including mixed use, multi-family and single-family residential. This role is similar to the Junior Architect / Designer role in how its primary responsibility is in production support of a project. However, the Intermediate Architect / Designer will be able to perform this function with greater autonomy and may take on entire aspects of a project as they progress towards becoming a project architect.
 
Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor (5 yr.) or Master Degree in Architecture is preferred, but other related degrees will be considered
  • 3+  years of experience in the architectural field, with residential and mixed-use experience preferred
  • Exposure to most design phases, as well as CD’s and CA
  • Experience with creating and giving presentations
  • A strong eye for design and a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Software: Strong knowledge of Adobe Suite, AutoCAD and Revit is preferred

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • During Land Planning, the role will assist the StoryBuilt team with site plans, site analysis and diagrams, and renderings of project concept. Role may also assist with zoning analysis and land planning iterations.
  • During Schematic Design, the role will assist team with design iterations, presentation drawings and renderings as required. The Intermediate Architect/Designer may assist in site plan development and coordination as well.
  • During Design Development and Construction Documents, the role will be responsible for producing construction documents under the supervision of the project architect.

Compensation and Benefits:
