Burnish & Plumb is a small organization of construction professionals who deliver architect-driven buildings to discerning clients. Our staff runs fast and hard in this crazy construction climate. We have a need for a degreed professional with high emotional intelligence and experience detailing beautiful buildings. This individual will provide exceptional service to our architect partners and their clients. This position spans all projects in the office.
Duties will include:

  • Estimating: On-screen quantity take-offs during all phases of design. The ability to foresee costs not yet detailed. Ability to learn new software is a must. We use Bluebeam Revu, Sage, Co-construct, and Excel. This will require constant communication with our staff accountants.
  • Scheduling: Create and maintain schedules for up to a dozen or more projects. Coordinate daily with the Project Manager on-site and subcontractors. Knowledge of scheduling software is a must. We use Smartsheets and Co-construct.
  • Communication management: Assist the Project Manager with client, architect, and subcontractor communication. Provide project briefings to Partners. Communications must be captured and organized in our system.
  • Materials management: Ensure materials, fixtures, and finishes are ordered in a timely fashion and arrive on site when needed. We have an inventory of consumables and tools that must be managed, as well as company trucks.
  • Business development: assist in the creation of new client packages. We provide a great deal of service prior to landing most projects and it requires a professional presentation. You will assist in the creation of these materials, as well as preliminary agreements and other communications.
  • Contribute to positive change: Our company is constantly evolving to provide better service to our clients. We will never turn stagnant. This requires innovation at every level of the organization. This position will be required to research and learn new software and other internal system improvements.

This candidate must have initiative and the ability to anticipate needs. We are looking for a long-term fit for a design professional with construction experience. Most time will be spent in the office but will require some on-site presence. A candidate with a truck is preferred. Pay will be reflective of the candidate’s ability to meet all desired requirements.
