Currently we are seeking a talented individual for the role of Associate Principal to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the planning, programming and architectural project management/design for both new construction and renovation projects. The position will offer the candidate opportunities to grow within the firm and exposure to an innovative, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
 
Project Management/Design Skills:

  • Proactive solutions finder
  • Define program requirements and establish project parameters based on client requirements
  • Create and develop overall project/design concepts; formulate project presentation strategies and make professional and persuasive client presentations
  • Manage project/design process for entire project; work with other technical staff
  • Manage project team members during the implementation of design to ensure clarity and quality of concept is maintained through detail level
  • Monitor project budget and schedule related to project team efforts
  • Manage client interaction and decision making related to projects
  • Ability to mentor, train and lead project practice staff
  • Ability to evaluate new and innovative products and materials as they apply to building use and client’s requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Licensed Architect
  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Proven experience and expertise in all phases of project management and design, particularly pre-design and schematic design
  • Experience taking project full cycle
  • Knowledge of local, state and national building codes, regulations and approval processes
  • Thorough knowledge of building materials, construction methods, costs and code applicable to the design process
  • Works with engineering consultants throughout design phases
  • Evaluates design alternatives based on site and code requirements
  • Understands and applies building technology and systems to design applications
  • Experience in the marketing process, client interviews and relationship building
  • Proficiency in bond program development and cost analysis
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities
