We are seeking an industrious self-starter with expertise in architectural design, project management, and construction administration.  The Architectural Project Manager's primary responsibility is managing the design and construction document process, including quality control of documents, for a select number of projects. The secondary role of the project manager will be to assist the architecture team with team staffing and management.

This position reports to the Director of Architecture.

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: 

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor (5 yr.) or Master Degree in Architecture required;
  • Architectural license is preferred.
  • 10+ years working in an architectural office with the following experience:
    • Extensive site design and knowledge of local zoning codes.
    • Coordinating work with civil engineers.
    • Extensive involvement in design and production, from schematic design through construction documents, on a variety of building types. Understanding project pro formas and budgets.
    • Extensive knowledge of IBC and IRC.
    • Construction observation on a wide range of projects.
    • Experience with multi-family and mixed-use construction is preferred.
    • Managing projects and teams of individuals to help projects progress on time and on budget.
    • Presenting design work to clients and internal teams in a succinct, clear and professional manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage several PSW architectural projects at a time, from schematic design through construction observation, to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and to control the quality of the documents that are issued.
  • Manage architectural project team members assigned to these projects, to assist them in producing all construction documents and deadlines.
  • Assist architecture team leadership in staffing projects, maintaining project schedules and working with leadership on overall team management.

Compensation and Benefits: 

This is a full-time salaried position. At PSW, all employees participate in profit sharing, in combination with a base salary package. We also provide full health benefits as well as retirement savings options.

Travel:

The position requires up to 20% travel.
