We are seeking an Architectural Project Manager to join our team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate thrives working autonomously, exercises sound judgement, and has an overactive attention to detail. This role is responsible for managing multiple concurrent design projects and project performance; taking each one from concept to completion with support from internal team and direction from Design Director. You will play an essential role in keeping the team’s projects on track, on  time and on budget for completion. You can see some of our retail design work here and here.


  • Manage the development, design and construction processes for multiple, concurrent projects with support and direction from Director of Construction and Development
  • Maintain accurate project budgets and  timelines and track them meticulously through project completion
  • Prepare bid packages, negotiate scope, level & validate bids, award & administer contracts and hold contractors & vendors accountable
  • Own progress communication with the design and construction teams; as well as with external partners throughout the entirety of each project
  • Provide clear, regular communication of project status to Director and cross-functional internal teams through the entire store development process
  • Track and manage final approval, inspections and permits required to open each project
  • Hire, partner with, and lead our AOR, GC and other 3rd party consultants ensuring both brand standards and schedule are upheld
  • Manage CA phase of design projects including: construction site visits, meetings with GC and appropriate vendors, punch-list process, etc.
  • Administer an effective project close-out process and oversee acquisition of any tenant allowance where applicable


  • Bachelors (or Masters) degree in Architecture from an accredited Program
  • 5+ years Retail/Hospitality project management experience in all phases of projects including SD, DD, CD, and CA
  • Architectural Registration Preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of building codes and structures
  • Deep understanding of architectural principles/practices
  • Understanding of technical regulations and related code compliance
  • Experience in design/planning standards and FF&E procurement principles
  • Collaborative teammate and excellent communicator
  • Strong abilities in managing budgets, schedules and resources
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take decisive action
  • Computer skills required: Sketchup, Excel, AutoCAD. Revit, and Adobe Suite, Smartsheets a plus
