Pfluger Architects, a Texas-based, award-winning architecture firm with extensive experience in educational facility planning, design, and construction administration, is seeking an Architectural Intern for its Austin office. We are a fast paced, mid-sized firm with offices in Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Full-time intern on the path to licensure with three to six years of experience, works under the direction of others, responsible for projects' technical design; provides planning/design/coordination consultation on large projects; reviews/approves conceptual design; assists Project Managers with RFIs, RFQs, ASIs, Addendums, PRs, and Change Orders.
Takes and passes ARE examination. Continues to develop architectural knowledge and play a more significant role on project teams.

Serves as primary support for Project Architect working closely with him/her to lead the completion of multiple projects.  Works with marketing department helping to produce competition entries. Begins working independently with supervision of PA to demonstrate capabilities to serve in Project Architect role. Begins working with Interns to develop their knowledge and skills.  Demonstrates leadership within the firm on "noncurricular" activities.  

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • 2+ years of experience in an architectural firm necessary
  • Computer conversant and proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Revit and AutoCAD
  • Attention to detail and grammar in written work, and in all other areas of responsibility
  • Must be highly organized, motivated, self-starter with an aptitude for learning.
  • Able to deal within the framework of a large organization and work with others as a team player.
