We are currently seeking an Architectural Designer with Project Management experience to expand our team of creative Architectural and Interior Designers.  The right person will be:

  • Creative and logical; continually considering implications of choices, actions and decisions.
  • An avid and self-driven learner with a desire to apply their experiences in new and innovative ways.
  • Someone who knows their resources and how to use them, but knows when and how to reach out for assistance.
  • An aide in creating a positive and ethical work environment that is conducive to productive team collaboration; attracting, retaining and developing a diverse group of top-quality employees at all levels.

Important Qualifications: [these will make you good at the role]

  • A Professional Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 3-10 years of design firm experience, including some Project Management.
  • High-Level, technical understanding of Revit, including experience in creation of all elements in a Construction Document set.
  • Understands the expectations for FAZIO Architects’ design quality and client driven approach to design.
  • Has experience collaborating with clients and developers to document ideas, concepts and design visions.
  • Maintains and ensures good communication with clients, developers and team members.
  • An interest in working on both Architectural and Interior aspects of a project.

Bonus Qualifications: [these will help you get a more influential role]

  • Passion for Revit and its potential application to design, documentation, or experience.
  • Previous history or special interest in marketing and/or business development; or a strong mastery of or special interest in social media in a professional context.
  • Experience in Construction Administration; responsible for facilitating project communication between the construction team, design team and owner / developer to ensure the design intent is achieved.
  • Takes special joy in planning and creating a well thought out, quality set of Construction Documents.
  • Experience managing multiple clients with varying project timelines through all stages of design with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of external clientele; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions.
  • History of building and maintaining strong Client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Modeling and drafting in Revit with efficient precision; adhering to drawing standards.  
  • Assist Design Principal in development of Schematic Designs and ensuring design continues to develop in-line with conceptual vision, code requirements, client expectations and project budget.
  • Work individually and as part of a team on Design Development and Construction Documents while maintaining a clean model and composed set of documents.
  • Keep organized and check your work for accuracy, omissions and legibility.
  • Conduct and document site visits, submittals, substitution requests, and RFI’s during construction.
  • Manage project schedules, teams, tasks, consultants, clients and building and permitting officials, for multiple projects with varying timelines to meet project goals.  We do not micro-manage, but we do provide support!
  • Be a supportive member of the FAZIO team.  Give and receive criticism in a constructive, non-defensive, and solution-oriented way.  Be ready to change gears or support other members of the team as needed.
