Members of AIA Austin Small Firms Roundtable (generally characterized as having 10 or fewer employees, designing small to medium projects) meet monthly to learn and discuss architectural practice and continually reach out to a diverse community of emerging small firms owners. Learn more about the Small Business Development Program through the City of Austin.

Event Small Firms Roundtable - Proposals for Architectural Services

Please join the Small Firms Roundtable as we kick off the new year discussing Proposals for Architectural Services.

In this first meeting of the year, we will focus the discussion on proposal structure, the difference between a proposal and contact, and generally what information should or should not be included. If possible, bring a copy of an example proposal you use in your office (minus all the private information of course) for some show and tell. Remember to freshen up on the AIA Antitrust Guidelines before our meeting.

Join us Thursday, June 15th, at 11:45AM at the Austin Center for Architecture for a discussion on Contract Basics. Leading the Roundtable discussion will be AIA Board of Directors at Large Member, Matthew Ryan. Matthew is a Partner at Allensworth and Porter, an Austin based construction law firm, as well as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas. He will be touching on issues related to contracts and construction law.

Leading the Roundtable discussion will be architect ​Tim Brown, principal at Tim Brown Architecture and owner of Perch Plans. He will be  discussing his firm's background, how and why he decided to start Perch Plans, along with the goals he hopes to achieve through this alternative architectural endeavor.
