A few weeks ago the Architecture in Schools Committee spent 3 mornings hosting Box City during the 2nd Annual Andy Roddick Foundation's Summer Learning Programs at Pecan Springs Elementary School.  The 6-week summer camp theme was the Amazing Race and we were part of Asia Week.  Each group of students was given an Amazing Race Ticket which introduced them to a significant Asian architecutral building or landform.

We will begin disussion on Monday about our proposed theme for 2016 which is about how architecture and planning can promote human health.

We would like to invite everyone to attend this meeting to look ahead to 2016 and discuss a program that involves a collaboration of AIA Austin Committees.

On Monday, April 13th,  AIA Austin COTE continues the Resiliency program with Watershed Protection Department presenting: Flash-floods and Floodplain Management through Design (1 hour CEU) This includes the rules of the National Flood Insurance Program and the higher standards adopted by the City of Austin to minimize or mitigate the risks posed by the threat of flash flooding.
