A partnership between Imagine Austin and AIA Austin DesignVoice Committee, this panel and tour endeavors to explore the range of missing middle housing, what it looks like and what it means for our communities. At each tour and panel we learn the challenges and opportunities that a diverse housing stock presents and visibly what those housing types look like in our neighborhoods.

Meet Leonid Furmansky, 2016 Homes Tour Photographer

Born in Ukraine, Odessa, Raised in Brooklyn New York, Leonid Furmansky found photography through freestyle BMX, capturing his friends in flight. He moved to Austin in 2000, and continued to photograph professional athletes for multiple publications, all the while traveling around Texas, capturing life on the street with his camera. With his addiction for street photography, he found himself noticing the buildings in the background along with the subjects in the foreground.
