The MUSIC IN ARCHITECTURE - ARCHITECTURE IN MUSIC Symposium is a once-in-a-lifetime, two-and-a-half-day event on the UT campus between October 19 and 21.  A year in the planning, it will feature 11 original live music performances of collaborations between architects and musicians, 18 fascinating papers, lectures, and much more...culminating with the premiere on the Bass Concert Hall stage, on the night of October 21, of Paul Dresher and Michael Benedikt's LOW CLOSE VAST, a work for 12 musicians in three movements and three amazing spatial transformations.

This design exhibit aims to showcase the work and talent of Austin Latino architecture and design professionals during the 2011 celebrations of National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept.15-Oct.15). Design entries will be on display at the Mexican American Cultural Center, a one-of-a-kind facility dedicated to the preservation, creation, presentation, and promotion of cultural arts and heritage.

Our monthly lecture series featuring, Architecture @ the Umlauf, will be on hiatus this Spring, until the Fall, as we move towards bigger and better things! Due to the past success of the lectures and various other events during 2011, the Umlauf is taking this Spring to build on its’ benefits and looks forward to a greater and more influential Fall program.
