Civic Engagement

We are at a turning point in our city’s history and architects can play a major role in how we move forward. Protecting the health, safety, and welfare of our community means more than good design. AIA’s Citizen Architect Program asks members to use their talents to improve their community through advocacy and civic engagement. This includes serving on City Boards and Commissions. Please consider serving your community and doing your part to make Austin a better place. Apply today!

AIA National Resolutions and Candidates

Find out what the National level of AIA is working on to elect qualified officials and create resolutions to further your goals as an architect. As the voting delegate from our Chapter, 2016 Board of Directors President Jim Susman, AIA, will be casting his vote on our members' behalf at the National Convention in Philadelphia, May 18-21. If you have comments about the issues on the ballot, send him a note or send a note to Executive Director Ingrid Spencer at ingrid@aiaaustin.org.
