Members of AIA Austin small firms' community (generally characterized as having 10 or fewer employees, designing small to medium projects) meet monthly to learn and discuss:  business and technical issues; advocacy; and, camaraderie and business networking. 

The committee meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 11:45am.

Event Design Awards Committee Meeting

This committee provides a platform to showcase excellence in design that is produced by AIA Austin architects and selected by a panel of distinguished jurors.  The committee organizes and implements the annual AIA Austin Design Awards Competition and Awards Celebration.

Event Homes Tour Committee Meeting

The Homes Tour provides the community with examples of quality architecture provided by registered architects and members of AIA Austin.  The annual Homes Tour is an important non-dues revenue source for the chapter.

Mobilizing for 2011

Our committee has ambitious plans for 2011. More community events, more educational efforts, and more advocacy than ever before. 

THEMES: Raise the profile of architecture within the AIA Austin region. / Cosponsor events other groups.

OUTREACH EVENTS: January- Architects at Capitol Day / February- Quarterly meeting with City council and aides. / March- Code Session with City of Austin Plan Review / April- Candidate Forum / October- Affordable Housing Summit
