The Public Interest Design Institute (PIDI), to be held at UT Austin on March 22 and 23, will offer training for architects on how to become proactively engaged in this rapidly growing field.  Learning objectives include finding new clients, learning about new fee sources & structures, understanding public interest design and leveraging other partners and assets to address project challenges.  Research from the 2011 AIA Latrobe Prize and 2012 SEED Award projects will be presented.  PIDI participants will become certified in this emerging public practice and earn continuing education cre

1.2. Economic losses due to poor IAQ.

2. Impacting IAQ
2.1. Material selection and controlling air quality at the source.
2.2. This section also explores case studies and their results.

3. Green Building and IAQ
3.1. Green Building and IAQ with a focus on LEED.

Event FFT - Intro to Living Building Challenge

The Living Building Challenge is a philosophy, advocacy tool and certification program that addresses development at all scales.  It is comprised of seven performance areas:  site, water, energy, health, materials, equity and beauty.

Participants will learn the following:

Understand the basic philosophy of the program
Describe the key components of the program
Discuss the rationale for restorative design principles
Identify and locate the resources provided by the International Living Future Institute for deeper engagement
