The Tejano Monument: a Dream, a Plan, a Legacy

Join AIA Austin’s “Latinos in Architecture” for an architecture and public art discussion with Jaime Beaman, former AIA president and principal of CasaBella Architects.  As a member of the Tejano Monument Committee, Mr. Beaman oversaw the design and construction of the historical monument to commemorate the 500-year role of Tejanos in Texas and the Spanish-Mexican legacy in the state.  The idea for the monument was conceived in 2000 and thus began The Tejano Monument’s 12-year journey to a prominent place on the Capitol grounds.

"PERSPECTIVASdosmil13" Celebrates Latino Architects & Designers

This year's “PERSPECTIVASdosmil13" will once again showcase the work of many talented architects and designers from around the State of Texas.  This 'one-of-a-kind' exhibit will feature innovative designs created by young professionals and seasoned firms from Austin, San Antonio, Harlingen, Comfort and McAllen. Additionally, this year we are very excited to be sharing the floor with the Lower Rio Grande Valley's AIA Chapter. Exhibit will be on display during the Annual "Building Communities Conference" at the South Padre Island Convention Centre, September 26-29.
